Faerie Dragon Rules (My rulings based on not liking either Pathfinder or 3.5’s rules)
HD: Faerie Dragons have 3 levels of dragon, granting them 3D12 HD. These HD grant them 2 feats, a BAB of 3, 3 in all saves, and (6+Int Mod)*3 skill points. Note that the first class level, as the 4th HD, adds an ability score bonus. Additionally, Faerie Dragons gain Weapon Finesse as a Bonus Feat
Faerie Dragons always treat the following skills as class skills: Acrobatics, Bluff, Diplomacy, Fly, Perception, Sense Motive, Stealth, Swim, and UMD
Racial Ability Score Modifiers: STR -2, DEX +6, CON +2, INT +6, WIS +4, CHA +6
Size: Faerie Dragons are Small.
SR: A Faerie Dragon has SR equal 11 plus total HD (including any racial HD)
Faerie Dragons have a land speed of 20 feet, a fly speed of 60 (perfect), and a swim speed of 30 feet.
Special Abilities: Scent, Darkvisin (60 feet), Low Light Vision, Water Breathing, Immunity to sleep, paralasys
Languages: Faerie Dragons start knowing Draconic and Sylvan. Faerie Dragons with high intelligence may select from Elven, Sylvan, Aquan, Auran, Ignan, Terran, Halfling, Gnoll, Goblin, Orc, Giant, and just about any other language with permission
Spell like abilities (CL=total HD)
- At Will: Dancing Lights, Flare, Ghost Sound, Mage Hand, Open/Close
- 3/day each: Entangle, Silent Image, Sleep, Obscuring Mist, Greater Invisibility (self only).
- 1/day: animate objects, mind fog, project image ((NO summon nature’s ally. sorry))
- 1/month: Commune with nature
- Note: this is basically just merging the two.
Natural Armor: +2
Natural Attacks: Bite (D6) and 2 claws (D4)
Level Adjustment: +2
Hands: Both drawings very clearly show well defined thumbs, that are not like a cat or dog’s dewclaws. 3.5 actually shows an almost human-like hand, and pathfinder looks capable of gripping. Therefore, I will say that you can use your hands “more or less” like a humanoid creature would. There may be some things out of your ability, however, but you can use and wield weapons. You can pick any two weapons to have innate proficiency with, but otherwise are proficient only with natural weapons (though can gain prof)
Breath weapon: A Faerie Dragon’s Breath Weapon is a 20-foot cone of euphoria gas. Any creature within the area of the gas must succeed on a DC 12 + dragon’s Charisma Mod Will save or become dazed for 1d6 rounds. Additionally, any creatures inside the cone and adjacent to the dragon are sickened and immune to fear effects for the duration of the euphoria if they fail the save. The Breath Weapon may be used once every D4 rounds.
As with Pixies, Faerie Dragons in this world (which is HIGHLY magical) automatically gain Druid Ex (and ONLY Ex) abilities as if they were a druid of level equal to their total HD.
